🎙️ Maybe I Should Just Go on a GLP-1

. 🎙️ Maybe I Should Just Go on a GLP-1 What weight-loss medication can do, what it can’t do, and the shit we still have to work on You’ve tried losing weight. Again. And again. And again. And eventually the thought creeps in: “Maybe I should just go on a GLP-1.” In this episode of The Strong, Sweaty & Slightly Inappropriate Podcast, Lindsey Petrangelo, APRN, CPT, is talking about the conversation that somehow became completely black and white on the internet: GLP-1 medications and weight loss. This isn’t an anti-GLP-1 episode. These medications can be incredibly helpful tools for the right person. But Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound can’t magically download new habits into your brain, lift weights for you, make sure you’re eating enough protein, fix an all-or-nothing relationship with food, or figure out what the hell you’re supposed to do when life gets chaotic. So instead of asking only, “Should I take a GLP-1?”, we’re asking a bigger question: What needs to exist alongside it? In this episode, we’re talking about: Why considering weight-loss medication doesn’t mean you’ve “failed” What GLP-1 medications actually do in the body Appetite, fullness, and that infamous “food noise” Why eating less doesn’t automatically mean eating well Protein, nutrition, and protecting muscle while losing weight Why strength training matters even more during weight loss The habits a prescription simply cannot build for you How all-or-nothing thinking can follow you even when the weight comes off Why some people may appropriately use GLP-1 medications long-term Side effects and why medical follow-up matters Why this conversation shouldn’t be medication vs. lifestyle What to consider when you feel like you’ve already “tried everything” ☕ Coffee & Chaos Tip of the Week Don’t ask one tool to do an entire toolbox’s job. A GLP-1 can be a powerful tool. So can strength training. So can adequate protein, sleep, stress management, behavioral support, and having some fucking groceries in the house. The goal isn't to find the one magic thing. It's to build enough support that no single thing has to carry the entire load. The takeaway Medication can be part of the strategy. It shouldn't have to BE the entire strategy. Whether a GLP-1 is right for you is an individualized medical decision between you and your healthcare provider. But whether you use medication or not, your nutrition, strength, mindset, habits, and the systems you've built for real life still matter. Because the goal isn't simply to weigh less. It's to build a healthier life you actually know how to live. Follow me on Instagram and Facebook: @inspirewellnessco 🌐 Visit my website: InspireWellnessCo 💻 Ready to take the next step?
